To commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, VZ Gallery is delighted to present The Royal Portraits exhibition. The event, which will take place in April 2012, will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the works exhibited, which comprise the Drawings Collection and the Enamel Miniatures Collection.

The series of original drawings depicting members of the royal families of Europe was created during the 1990's as part of a commission for the Moscow Kremlin Museums.

Memoirs

Working on The Royal Portraits.
Ideas come true.

I was working on "The Royal Portraits" together with Leonid Efros. But it wasn't our common work, these were two separate series. I was focusing on enamel miniatures, whereas Leonid Efros was doing easel painting. A number of events - exhibitions, publications, coincidences, and wrecking of the plans led us to London, and later to the Hague and Oslo. Let me tell you the back story first.
